How Facebook Marketplace fees work

When a buyer pays through Facebook checkout for an item you ship, Facebook charges a selling fee of 10%, with a minimum fee of $0.80 for each item. On a $50 sale you keep $45.00.

The fee is based on the item price, the delivery cost and sales tax. On a $20 item with $5 delivery and $1 tax, the fee is $2.60, so you keep $22.40 of the $25 item and delivery. The fee is taken from your payout before it reaches your linked account.

There is no selling fee for items picked up locally, or when the buyer pays you without using delivery and checkout, for example through PayPal.

These rates come from Meta's help article Get paid for selling with delivery on Marketplace and its Checkout Terms.

The $0.80 minimum

10% of a total under $8.00 is less than $0.80, so the minimum applies. On a $5 sale the fee is $0.80 and you keep $4.20, which is 16% of the sale.

Refunds

Selling fees are non-refundable, except where Meta's Seller Policies say otherwise.
